Lakeland civic music teams set to kick off 2022-2023 efficiency season – The Information-Herald


Two Lakeland Group Faculty musical ensembles are set to kick off the college’s 2022-23 efficiency season, officers just lately introduced.

Based in 1937, the Lakeland Civic Orchestra, led by Director Matthew Saunders and Concertmaster Sarah Icardi, performs classical, modern and pop numbers.

Orchestra concert events for the autumn season are scheduled for Nov. 13 and Dec. 12.

In accordance with Lakeland, ensemble members vary in age from 14 to 80 and are available from many alternative backgrounds — from “passionate amateurs to professionals.”

Furthermore, the orchestra additionally sponsors an annual Young Artists Concerto Competition for musicians aged 18 and beneath. Winners carry out a concerto with the orchestra throughout the next season.
