Designer Daniela Stone’s Ocean Melodies: Vogue Impressed by Dancehall and Soca Hits

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Name it trend stitched by pop music. Designer Daniela Stone made Ocean Melodies, her newest creations, based mostly on hit songs from dancehall and soca artistes.

Ocean Melodies, which was launched on March 1 by Stone’s DTS Swim Firm, contains eight items. They bear names of hip songs equivalent to Drift by Teejay (a cover-up), a Continent kaftan impressed by Nigy Boy’s hit, Surreal (by Tessanne Chin) pants set and Radar (Kes) gown.

“I’m impressed by the ocean and all of us love music, so it simply appeared pure we named the items after songs from the Caribbean, primarily Jamaica,” 34 year-old Stone instructed South Florida Caribbean Information.

These aren’t her first music-inspired creations. Stone beforehand launched items named for ‘riddims’ such because the Fever and Unda Wata. For Ocean Melodies, she and her four-member staff agreed on a capsule assortment that will enchantment to the party-minded.

Stone began DTS Swim Firm seven years in the past, shortly after graduating from the College of Know-how with a level in advertising and marketing. Based mostly in Kingston, the corporate caters to a clientele large on unique items.
