Barbara Jeanne Bard, age 94, handed away September 18, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL. Jeanne was born on a chilly winter day, December 12, 1927, in Minneapolis, MN to Delpha Myrtle Victoria Peterson and Clair Vernon Hughes. She and her youthful sister, Mary Ann, spent many childhood days on the household cabin on Inexperienced Lake in Spicer, MN the place they beloved to fish. Their dad and mom taught them to like and worship God at a younger age. Jeanne’s father was a dentist in Minneapolis, and he or she adopted his footsteps attending the College of Minnesota attaining a Bachelor’s diploma in Dental Hygiene.
At some point, Jeanne met a younger, good-looking dental scholar named Edwin Jay Bard, who had returned from his service in WWII earlier than attending faculty. It was love at first sight and so they married March 17, 1950. That they had their first little one, Ann Bard Oswald, in Minnesota and relocated to Jacksonville, FL to start Ed’s dental profession and full a household of 8 kids.
Jeanne and Ed had been very lively members of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville. She shared along with her kids the identical respect and love for our Heavenly Father that she had. Jeanne was gorgeous, had an ideal sense of style (and humor), beloved pottery, stitching, cooking, journey, and procuring – particularly at Neiman Marcus. Her household celebrates her life as a loving, caring mom.
Jeanne was preceded in demise by her husband, Ed; her dad and mom; sister, Mary Ann; daughter Barbara Claire Bard Reed; sons Brian (Skip) Jay Bard and James Jay Bard; and two grandchildren Noah Jay and Lucas “Luke” James Bard. She is survived by her 5 remaining kids Ann Bard Oswald, Nancy Bard Michelsen, Irene Bard Stone, David Jay Bard, and April Jeanne Bard; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A celebration of life might be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Downtown, Lindsay Memorial Auditorium. The household will obtain buddies one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service might be at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Seashore Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
