Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Division of Transportation launched $100 million in emergency funds on Saturday for North Carolina to rebuild its roads and bridges broken by Helene. 

“We’re offering this preliminary spherical of funding so there isn’t any delay getting roads repaired and reopened, and re-establishing essential routes,” mentioned U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in a statement. “The Biden-Harris administration shall be with North Carolina each step of the best way, and at this time’s emergency funding to assist get transportation networks again up and working safely shall be adopted by further federal assets.”
